Early access games, love them or hate them, they seem to be here to stay. While it would be unfair to review an unfinished game that doesn't stop us from taking a look at what is currently on offer.
Games that you see in this section are ones that have grabbed my attention for some reason and that I want to show you guys. With all early access games comes an inherent risk: some pop and some just stop. Yet as we have seen so many times, early access games can go on to become some of the greatest games of that year. Early access games are predominantly from indie developers and they launch as an early access project for numerous reasons but most often to get some much-needed cash in the coffers. Indie games represent the white-hot forge of game development where we see pure creativity and a passion for new gaming concepts. As such, by promoting these games we are helping the industry in more ways than one.
I'll check back every few weeks on all these works in progress for new features, content and progress. As soon as a title reaches that all-important 1.0 status it will usually get the full review treatment. Due to the more work-intensive nature of following early access games and updating my content when large updates happen, I will only have a few games in the oven at any one time. As a gamer who has been around for a while, I get really excited when developers bring something new to the table and this creative thinking should be supported due to the higher risks that come with it. There is no medium on earth like gaming and we should feel very lucky to be living at a time with so many incredible titles at our fingertips. If you can help me spread the word on games I post here by sharing them on social media and telling your friends about them it would be greatly appreciated.
If you see a title you think is worth a punt then, of course, sign your life on the dotted line. Even better, if you know of a game that is still in the oven but already shows promise? Let me know and I'll try to cover it.
